Job Title: Security Analyst
Description:
The Security Analyst plays a critical role in safeguarding an organization’s digital assets and protecting against security threats. As a Security Analyst, you will be responsible for assessing and monitoring the security posture of systems, networks, and applications, identifying vulnerabilities, and implementing effective security measures.
Your primary focus as a Security Analyst will be on analyzing security incidents, conducting risk assessments, and developing and implementing security policies and procedures. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the organization’s systems and data are protected from unauthorized access, breaches, and other security risks.
Key Responsibilities:
– Monitor and analyze security alerts and incidents to identify and respond to potential security breaches or vulnerabilities.
– Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in systems, networks, and applications.
– Collaborate with IT and development teams to implement and configure security tools, systems, and software.
– Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with security standards and regulations.
– Perform regular security audits, log analysis, and monitoring of security controls.
– Investigate and resolve security incidents, documenting findings and recommendations for improvement.
– Stay up to date with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies, and recommend proactive measures to address them.
– Conduct security awareness training for employees, promoting a security-conscious culture within the organization.
– Participate in incident response activities and contribute to the development of incident response plans.
– Collaborate with external security vendors and partners, as needed, to enhance the organization’s security posture.
Requirements:
– Proven experience as a Security Analyst or similar role, working in an information security or cybersecurity capacity.
– Strong knowledge of security principles, practices, and technologies.
– Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, CIS).
– Experience with vulnerability assessment and penetration testing tools and methodologies.
– Knowledge of network protocols, firewall configuration, and intrusion detection systems.
– Familiarity with security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
– Understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.
– Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
– Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
– Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) are highly desirable.
